The Court of Durrës has set the security measure of "prison arrest" for 3 of the arrested employees of the Rrogozhin Municipality, accused of abusing the reconstruction funds.

The employees Besim Ballabani, Elton Levonja and Mario Meka were left in the cell, while the black squads set the measure of "house arrest" for Xhemile Uku and "obligation to appear" for Edlira Ramaj.

The officials of the Rrogozhine Municipality are accused of the following crimes: "Misuse of duty", "Forgery and fraud" with the reconstruction funds, causing damage to the state budget worth 353,471,090'.

According to sources from the investigation group, officials assessed 78 pig and cattle huts as damaged by the earthquake of November 26, 2019.

Court Decision:

The confirmation and continuation of the implementation of the security measure "arrest in prison", provided by article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure against persons under investigation, citizens MM, EL, BB determined by decision no. 681 dt. 30.09.2024 of the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës as a suspect for committing the criminal offense "Abuse of duty provided for by Article 248 of the Penal Code.

2. The replacement of the security measure for the citizen Xh. U. assigning the security measure "house arrest" provided by article 237 of the Penal Code. ordered the person under investigation Xh. U. not to leave her apartment located in Neighborhood no. 1 in Rrogozhin.

3. The replacement of the security measure for the citizen E.Ra. determining the measure of personal insurance Obligation to appear at the judicial police on the first and third Monday of the month at 08.00, as well as the measure of insurance Prohibition of going abroad.

4. The judicial police and the prosecution are ordered to implement this decision.

5. Court costs as incurred.

6. An appeal against this decision is allowed in the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction, within 5 days, starting from the day after the communication of this decision.
