Albanian trafficker, most wanted by the Special Prosecution, arrested in the

Soni Pepa, the most wanted man by the Special Prosecution Office, has been arrested in the Dominican Republic. According to local media, the 40-year-old was detained on September 3 in Santo Domingo and is accused of being part of a criminal group that operated in several countries in Europe and South America.

He is suspected of being involved in a shipment of 11 tons of cocaine, of which 600 kilograms were seized in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, between 7 and 8 November 2020, and is said to have financed the purchase of another 10 kilograms in the same city.

According to international reports, Pepa was part of a criminal group operating in several European and South American countries, with the aim of trafficking significant quantities of narcotics. The shipment in question departed from the port of Villetas, Paraguay, with the destination port of Antwerp, Belgium.

At the time of arrest, Pepa's Albanian passport, several Italian documents, as well as five encrypted mobile phones and money were seized.

Pepa was sent to the General Directorate of Immigration for subsequent deportation, in coordination with OCN-INTERPOL Santo Domingo. Meanwhile, extradition procedures are being worked on.
