
EMRI/ Turkish hacker arrested in Tirana, 41-year-old commits online fraud of up to 1 million euros

" The police operation codenamed "Transaction" is finalized." The operation, by the Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes of the DPSS, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana.
Turkish citizen Ferhat Karakus, 41 years old, has been arrested, who, in collaboration with other citizens, through computer fraud, had carried out illegal transactions worth over 1 million euros.
This citizen, using his business assets, had carried out illegal transactions using a card belonging to another citizen, who was not in Albania at the time of the transaction.
These transactions have also been reported as fraudulent by MasterCard.
"In cooperation with counterpart law enforcement agencies, work is underway to clarify the circumstances of the case and identify other suspected citizens involved ," the State Police announced.
