The name of the Mayor of Tirana, Erjon Veliaj, seems to be the favorite for fraudsters with the aim of embezzling various amounts of money from businessmen.

The target of this group of fraudsters who presented themselves in the name of the mayor was the businessman Shkëlqim Beshiri.

According to the documents provided by the journalist of "Ora News", Edison Vatnikaj, the incident happened on September 24 of this year, where the companion of the businessman Shkëlqim Beshiri made the report to the State Police.

Gentian citizen. M explained that he received a message in the "Signal" application with the name of Erion Veliaj.

According to the complainant, the person alleged to be Erjon Veliaj demanded the amount of 50,000 thousand euros, also sending him the phone number of the person who would receive the amount of money.

After this communication, it turns out that citizen Shkëlqim Beshiri gave the phone number to citizen Gentian, M. After communicating by phone, both citizens agreed to meet.

According to the journalist Vatnikaj, from the examination of Shkëlqim Beshir's phone, it appears that in the "Signal" application, on 24.09.2024, at 12:14 PM, he received a message from a number registered under the name "Erion Veliaj", with the content:  "From where are you?"

Citizen Shkëlqim Beshiri replied: "Can you speak? I'm in Vlora for a while".

While the person wrote to him: "Finish an order for me when you return!".

Citizen Shkëlqim Beshiri answered: "Yes, definitely!"

While the person wrote: "Give 50! 068....... Now!!. If I pick you up from dinner, let's go to Padam".

For this purpose, on 25.09.2024, the agreement between the police officer and Gentian M.

At 10:03, the citizen Gentian M. met with the person in question in the premises of a bar on "Zogu i Parë" Boulevard, Tirana.

At the time of the meeting, this citizen was accompanied by another person, who met with the citizen Gentian M.

The latter handed over the bag in which the amount of money was located, a bag which was taken over by a citizen aged about 27, later identified as citizen Shkëlqim Saraçi.

After these two citizens left with the amount of money, the police services intervened and arrested them.
