The Macedonian policeman pulled down the red and black flag, the Albanian

A group of Macedonians burned the Albanian flag in Skopje and as if that wasn't enough, the police intervened on Friday evening to remove the Albanian flags placed there.

The images where the policeman removes the red and black flag from the pole and then throws it on the ground, have circulated rapidly on the network and these actions have caused anger among Macedonian Albanians.

These actions provoked strong reactions from political parties and public opinion in North Macedonia.

The Albanian opposition party, the Democratic Union for Integration (BDI), through a communique, condemned the act and criticized the police intervention during the celebrations of November 28 in Skopje.

The vice president of DUI, Arbër Ademi, writes that there is no equal treatment for those who have violated the law.

"While Albanians, including minors, are detained on criminal charges; on the other hand, there is no sanction, not even for the police, for whom only disciplinary procedure is warned, not even criminal. Today he walks freely, boasting of his "patriotic" gesture. All this selective justice is carried out under the slogan "Македонија распорт твойа", Ademi wrote.

The former Minister of Economy, Kreshnik Bekteshi, also reacted to the case, saying that the policeman should have been in custody.

"The policeman and the policemen who were put to work by the state means to degrade the ALBANIAN national flag, should be in custody, and not take disciplinary measures as warned by Arbeni and Izeti" - he wrote.

Even the "Left" party has condemned the non-reaction of the authorities, demanding the resignation of Minister Toshkovski.

"The left not only condemns the incidents and riots surrounding the disrespect of the Macedonian flag, not only demands responsibility and resignation from Toshkovski, but also recalls once again the Macedonian platform, which was a basic condition for any post-election coalition with OBRM-PDUKM.

The recent incidents confirm why the government led by OBRM-PDUKM has not accepted the Macedonian platform to be signed by the pro-Macedonian parties to create a national consensus to prevent blackmail from the Albanian minority parties", reacted E Majta.
