The Albanian Parliament convened today, September 12, at 10:00 AM, to hold the first plenary session of the new legislature. 140 deputies will sit in the Parliament hall, among whom 72 are in the Assembly for the first time, bringing new life to the Albanian political scene.

The session is chaired by MP Vasil Lajo, one of the newcomers to the Socialist Parliamentary Group, who will hold this position for the first time in his political career.

Among those present in the hall are also representatives of religious communities in Albania, thus giving a solemn character to the event of the start of parliamentary proceedings.

In this important session for the functioning of the state, the oath of office of deputies from the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party, the two main parties in Parliament, will also be taken, officially opening the proceedings of the new legislature.
