Albanian man hits Italian police officer with car, being investigated for drug

Anti-drug operation in the Bustecche neighborhood of Varese, Italy, a 20-year-old Albanian tries to escape by hitting an agent of the Flying Squad. The injured police officer with facial fractures has been admitted to the Circolo hospital. The young man was arrested on suspicion of being part of a drug trafficking network linked to cocaine trafficking.

When he realized he was now being followed, the 20-year-old attempted a desperate escape by slamming on the gas pedal, hitting the officer who was in his path.

The exact sequence of events is still being examined by investigators. Narcotics agents had gone to the Bustecche neighborhood, near Viale Borrit, for an operation aimed at combating drug trafficking in the city. The 20-year-old, suspected of being a member of a local drug trafficking network, was apprehended by investigators who ordered him to stop.

It is not yet known whether the young man immediately ignored the order or stopped and then suddenly started again.

The fact is that in an attempt to escape, he knocked down one of the officers, who suffered several injuries, including bruises and fractures to his face. Fortunately, his life is not in danger. The young Albanian was then arrested and sent to the Miogni prison, by order of the public prosecutor.
