Barbed wire surrounds Baks-Rrjoll, residents: They are trampling on our dignity!

After being removed from Zvërnec, barbed wire has surrounded the lands in Baks-Rrjoll, Velipoja, while citizens who claim ownership for months continue to protest against the occupation of the lands.

Residents in Baks-Rrjoll claim that a former Shkodra Cadastre official has alienated ownership documents, appropriating entire areas of land and then selling it to an investor, who will build a tourist resort on the coast of Velipoja.

Although the case is being pursued by the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office, the investor has not withdrawn, which has fueled tensions between residents claiming ownership, with representatives of the construction company and the private police guarding the properties, who have even physically clashed with each other. These cases have been accompanied by numerous proceedings for the residents, while the development permit was signed by former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.

In a reaction on social media, residents who claim ownership of the lands in Baks-Rrjoll say that the barbed wire fence does not simply surround a stolen area of ​​land, but a trampled dignity. The residents of Baks Rrjoll have moved their protest from Velipoja to Tirana, where they have joined the massive rally that has been taking place and growing for 10 days.
