Some Albanians were arrested in Spain for stealing ATMs by pulling them with trucks
The Spanish Civil Guard has cracked down on an organized gang operating in Alicante, Murcia, Tarragona and Madrid, which was robbing ATMs with the help of previously stolen trucks.
Seven people were arrested in the operation, most of them of Albanian origin.
The number of those involved may be higher, as there are two members of the gang who were not found at the time of the arrests and checks, so a search and capture of them has been ordered. Numerous tools and other materials related to the robberies, as well as 42,720 euros in cash, taken from their latest attack in Barcelona, were seized from the arrested.
The Civil Guard considers the disbanded gang responsible for at least eight ATM robberies in the past seven months. The reported robberies were committed in Alicante, Valencia, Murcia, Almería, Tarragona and Barcelona.
