Eglant Koç's disappearance, police issue official announcement: Suspect wanted for the young man's kidnapping

Tirana Police have issued an official announcement regarding the disappearance of Eglant Koç, a 34-year-old man who was last seen on June 4 in the capital.

Authorities say they have identified and declared wanted 41-year-old Armand Shaka, who is suspected of kidnapping and holding Koç hostage.

Meanwhile, the police reveal that despite the identification of the 41-year-old and the thorough search of the suspected premises, where the 34-year-old was allegedly held hostage, as well as in many other premises and on the ground, it has not been possible to find Eglant Koçi so far.

Tirana/Intensive investigations continue to find citizen EK, 34 years old, reported missing by family members.

The 41-year-old man suspected of holding the 34-year-old hostage has been identified and is wanted by the police.

A 25-year-old man is arrested, suspected of supporting the alleged perpetrator.

As a result of intensive investigative and operational actions carried out by specialists of the Sector for the Investigation of Serious Crimes against Life and Property, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, following the report made on 05.06.2026 by the family members of citizen EK, 34 years old, regarding the loss of contact with him, it was possible to identify citizen A. Sh., 41 years old, who is suspected of having held the 34-year-old hostage.

From the entirety of the investigative actions carried out up to this stage, it has been possible to find the 34-year-old's motorcycle, identify and control the environment where the 34-year-old entered, an environment from which the suspected perpetrator subsequently emerged and may have taken the 34-year-old with him, in the vehicle.

A thorough search was conducted in the suspected premises, where the 34-year-old was allegedly being held hostage, as well as in many other premises and on the ground, but so far it has not been possible to find the 34-year-old.

The investigative actions also revealed that the suspected perpetrator removed the 34-year-old's motorcycle from the place where it was initially parked.

The vehicle in which the 34-year-old was allegedly transported was found and seized as evidence.

Also, citizen EZ, 25 years old, was arrested in flagrante delicto, suspected of the criminal offense of "Supporting the perpetrator of a crime", as he is suspected of having helped the 41-year-old in this case.

Police services are intensively continuing the search to find citizen EK.

Meanwhile, work is underway to locate and capture the wanted citizen.
