Drone attack on Israel, 40 people injured. Hezbollah claims responsibility

Israeli services said around 40 people were injured Sunday in a drone strike in the central city of Binyamina. Three of the injured appear in critical condition. The Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah claimed responsibility for one of the deadliest attacks on Israel in a year of war.

Israeli media reported that two drones had been launched from Lebanon, and the military announced that one of them had been intercepted.

Hezbollah said in a statement it had targeted an Israeli military camp used for training in retaliation for two Israeli attacks on Beirut on Thursday that killed 22 people.

This was the second time in two days that a drone struck inside Israel. On Saturday, during the Yom Kippur holiday, a drone struck the outskirts of Tel Aviv, causing property damage but no deaths or injuries.

We recall that the Jewish state is expected to strike Iran as an act of retaliation to a ballistic missile attack earlier this month, but it remains unclear when such a thing might happen. On the other hand, Iran has said that it will respond to any Israeli attack.
