Bus crashes into Stockholm station, several dead and injured

A serious incident has occurred in Stockholm, where a bus crashed into a bus stop in the Östermalm neighborhood, causing panic and chaos during rush hour.

According to Stockholm County Council, five people were injured, with two of them being rushed to hospital. Police confirmed that at least two people had died, while the Ekspressen newspaper reported that the death toll could have reached three.

Authorities announced that the incident is being investigated as "manslaughter," and the bus driver has been arrested while investigations into the causes of the accident continue.

"It is a serious incident," said Stockholm Transport spokeswoman Sophie Gunnarsson. Meanwhile, Oscar Davila, operations manager for the rescue service, confirmed that some of the injured were in serious condition.

The accident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m., in one of the city's busiest areas, causing traffic disruption and an increased presence of emergency crews.
