Qatar says it has made some progress in negotiations for a cease-fire in Gaza and is continuing to mediate to "bridge the gap" between Israel and Hamas.
The Gulf state, Egypt and the United States have been engaged in months of cease-fire talks that include a prisoner exchange and the receipt of desperately needed humanitarian aid in war-torn Gaza.
"There has been some progress in the situation. We have continued our efforts without interruption over the past few days," said Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani at a press conference in Madrid with Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares.
