Netanyahu: There will be no Palestinian state west of the Jordan River

Our position to oppose the recognition of a Palestinian state in any territory west of the Jordan River remains firm and unchanged, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told his cabinet yesterday, according to The Jerusalem Post.
Netanyahu emphasized Israel's opposition to a Palestinian state and commitment to demilitarizing Hamas during his opening speech at the government meeting.
The meeting included discussions with ministers on the issue of a Palestinian state.
Ron Dermer, the head of negotiations for the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza, attended the meeting, despite his resignation from his role as Minister of Strategic Affairs last week.
His statement came after a series of criticisms from far-right politicians and lawmakers, who called on Prime Minister Netanyahu to clarify Israel's position regarding the creation of a Palestinian state.
"Our position to oppose the recognition of a Palestinian state in any territory west of the Jordan River remains firm and unchanged," Netanyahu said at the meeting.
