Another member of the Kennedy family continues the tradition, the grandson of the former president announces his candidacy for Congress

Another prominent member of the Kennedy family has expressed his desire to run for Congress, continuing the family tradition.
Jack Schlossberg, the only grandson of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the former president assassinated in 1963, will run for Congress in New York state in the 2026 elections. He aims to take the seat of Congressman Jerrold Nadler, who in September announced that he would retire after more than three decades in politics.
The 32-year-old candidate, the son of Caroline Kennedy, told the New York Times that the Democratic Party needs more voices to “oppose what we perceive as abuses of power by President Trump and his allies.” He has almost 2 million followers on Instagram and TikTok and is known for his provocative and outspoken political commentary online, according to the BBC.
In 2024, he was a political correspondent for Vogue in the run-up to the presidential election, partly because of his relaxed online presence. He has said that his grandfather was his hero and “a model of how progressivism can work in America.”
Shortly after announcing his campaign, Schlossberg posted videos and materials on social media, encouraging followers to make donations "to help us win."
"This is our last chance to stop Trump - there will be no other chance," he wrote, among other things.
Schlossberg has openly expressed his opposition to the Trump administration, which includes his cousin, Robert Kennedy Jr., with whom he has a frosty relationship and whom he has called a "loser."
