Strong clash in Italy between Meloni and the unionist! Landini called the Italian prime minister "Trump's concubine", after the meeting with the US president in Cairo

A strong verbal clash has erupted in Italy between Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and the head of the left-wing CGIL union, Maurizio Landini, after the latter made a sensational statement in a television interview.
During the show, Landini said that Meloni “limited herself to being Trump’s concubine and didn’t lift a finger,” adding that “fortunately, it was the workers who protested and saved Italy’s honor.” The term he used, in Italian “cortigiana,” has various meanings, from “court mistress” in archaic form to “prostitute” in modern usage.
Meloni immediately reacted through a post on the "X" platform, writing:
"The CGIL secretary, Landini, blinded by a growing anger (which I understand), called me a 'cortigiana'. Everyone knows what that word means. Here it is, the left that for decades gave us moral lectures on respect for women, but when they have to attack a woman, because they lack arguments, they call her a prostitute."
Landini, in a second reaction, tried to clarify his position, saying:
"On the show we were talking about the Middle East. When I used that term, I immediately clarified that Meloni was behaving like Trump's 'courtier', following in his footsteps and acting as his secretary. It was a political criticism, of the passive role that the Italian government and the prime minister have had in international affairs."
