Azerbaijan plane crash in 2024, Putin admits guilt: Russian air defense was responsible

On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin admitted that Russia's air defenses were responsible for the downing of an Azerbaijani passenger plane in December 2024, which killed 38 people.

Putin made this statement during his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Tajikistan.

Meanwhile, the Russian president was present at a regional summit, where he promised to compensate all relatives of the victims.

The Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed on December 25, 2024 in Aktau, Kazakhstan, while flying from Baku to Grozny, Chechnya.

Among the 38 victims, about 29 people on board managed to survive thanks to the help of the pilots.
