Russia and Ukraine to exchange around 500 prisoners

Russia and Ukraine are expected to carry out a new prisoner exchange tomorrow, with the mediation of the United Arab Emirates, a source said.
According to the source for the Reuters agency, approximately 500 Russian and Ukrainian prisoners will be exchanged in this latest round, including 46 wounded soldiers.
The exchange will involve 246 prisoners from each side, according to the same source.
Over the course of the war, Russia and Ukraine have exchanged hundreds of prisoners, thanks to an agreement brokered by the United Arab Emirates.
So far, the total number of prisoners exchanged through UAE mediation has reached 3,233.
This exchange comes at a time when Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, warned today that the US will abandon efforts to broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine within days if there are no clear signs that a ceasefire can be reached.
