In a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that only Donald Trump could create, the US president met with Syria's interim president, Ahmed al-Sharaa, in the Oval Office on Monday.

The guest, who had a $10 million bounty on his head just a year ago, arrived at the Oval Office for a meeting with Donald Trump.

The meeting took place away from reporters and cameras, but with official photographers present to capture the unique scene.

Trump presented the Syrian president with bottles of perfume and even sprayed him, as did another member of the Syrian delegation.

"It's the best perfume! And the other one is for your wife," he told Al-Sharaa.

But Trump immediately asked, continuing the discourse on the topic of women:

"One," the Syrian president replied, prompting Trump's comment:

"One? With guys like you, you never know!"

The perfume appears to be the one that Trump has released under the name 45-47 (because he is the 45th and 47th president of the United States) at a fairly high price, $249 for the men's and women's versions.

At the same time as the meeting, the US suspended sanctions against Syria for another 180 days on Trump's orders. However, it is quite possible that they will be lifted completely, but this will require a vote in Congress.

Al-Sharaa said he offered Trump symbolic gifts, replicas of ancient Syrian artifacts.
