Trump sues CBS for damages over Harris interview
Donald Trump is suing CBS over an interview with Kamala Harris, according to court documents.
The former American president claims that the interview on the show "60 Minutes" with the American vice president was "manipulated".
The lawsuit was filed in the Court of the Northern District of Texas in the US, where the 78-year-old is seeking 10 billion dollars in damages, writes skynews.
CBS has previously stated that the interview was not manipulated and that no part of Harris's response was withheld.
“On October 20, 60 Minutes provided an excerpt of our interview to Face the Nation, which used a longer portion of her response than the one on 60 Minutes. Same question. Same answer. But another part of it," CBS announced.
“When we edit any interview, whether it's with a politician, an athlete or a movie star, we aim to be clear, precise and to the point. Her answer segment on 60 Minutes was shorter, which allows more time for other topics in a 21-minute segment. We recall that Trump refused the interview with 60 Minutes, while the vice president participated. Our long-standing invitation to former President Trump remains open," declared American television.
The network also dismissed earlier suggestions that the 78-year-old might sue him, telling the former president on October 23 that his demands are based on a "false premise".
Otherwise, the US presidential elections are expected to be held on November 5 (Tuesday).
