North Korean troops in Russia, Blinken: Putin desperate
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said today that his country expects North Korean military troops in Russia to be deployed in the war against Ukraine "in the coming days".
He said that 8,000 North Korean troops are currently stationed in the Kursk region, near the border with Ukraine.
"If these troops are involved in combat or combat support operations against Ukraine, they will become legitimate military targets. One of the reasons Russia is turning to North Korean troops is that it is desperate. This war has become a 'meat grinder' created by Russian President Vladimir Putin," said Blinken, adding that Russia is suffering over 1,200 casualties a day.
Blinken also condemned the recent launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile by North Korea and called on all countries to demand that official Pyongyang stop its provocations./ Kosovapress
