A 14-year-old boy has suffered serious injuries after being attacked by a pit bull dog.
Disturbing footage shows how Abdul Waheed Akhtar desperately fought the pit bull as it attacked him in a park.
He was rushed to hospital with multiple wounds and blood pouring from his arms, while the teenager underwent surgery on his limbs.
Abdul's father Nadeem Akhtar, 45, said his son was playing in Queens Park in Bolton with relatives when a couple turned up with their dog.
They threw a piece of wood at the child, while the dog attacked, dragging him to the floor.
The teenager only escaped further injury after a woman - believed to be the dog's owner - managed to pull him away.
The father-of-six, who works as a taxi driver, said: 'The other children were crying, there was blood everywhere.
