Iran retaliated tonight for the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon by firing several hundred (at least 180, the Israeli military says) cruise and ballistic missiles at Israel.
The attack lasted about an hour and, according to Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder, had "twice the range" of that of April 14.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard also reacted by saying that they had struck three Israeli military bases near Tel Aviv.
" We targeted the heart of the occupied territories today in response to Israel's killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and a senior Quds Force commander, Abbas Nilforoushan ," Pasdaran said, warning that there would be "devastating attacks" if Israel to answer.
Iranian public television later added that hypersonic missiles made by Iranian manufacturer Fatah were used in the attack.
