1.1 billion euros of foreign investments in 9 months, real estate is preferred! Bank of Albania: 56 million euros more compared to 2023

Over 1.1 billion euros is the value of foreign direct investments that the country has benefited in the 9th month of this year. The latest figures of the Bank of Albania show that investments have increased by 56 million euros compared to January-September of last year.
Investors in this period were most interested in real estate, causing this sector to grab 263 million euros during this period.
Only in the third quarter of this year, 411 million euros were invested in the country, says the Bank of Albania, where 234 million euros is reinvested profit.
The reinvested profit component has expanded by 15% in annual terms and stands at 234 million euros, while the capital injection was estimated at 178 million euros, or 17% less than a year ago," says the bank.
During this quarter, 20% of foreign investments were made in the real estate sector, followed by 19% in the financial intermediation sector, 14% in the field of hydrocarbons and 11% in energy.
For years, foreign citizens have been investing in real estate, this is also shown by the surveys that the bank conducted on this market, where it turns out that only this year, about 27% of the apartments sold were bought by foreign citizens, mainly in the areas around the center of Tirana and on the coast. The Netherlands, Italy and Turkey are the countries that lead the list for the value of foreign investments in Albania.
