The 14-year-old with a pistol, the sociologist: It takes a detective to distinguish these weapons!
Sociologist Gëzim Tushi has commented on the case of the 14-year-old in Vlora who was caught with a firearm and hundreds of bullets.
He stopped at several points of view, but mostly emphasized that there has been a deformation of parental education in the family, directly influencing the behavior of children.
"This situation must be seen from two sides. What is happening is a deformation of parental education in the family, the decline of the power of parenting in the family as well as the lack of communication or emotional empathy to form teenagers, so that they do not have their minds on crime and weapons", said the sociologist in Euronews Albania.
Gëzim Tushi also explained that in these cases the family and its structure should be looked at.
"The expansion of juvenile delinquency is firstly related to the family structure and parenting skills of the family. In any society, the safest and most influential institution for teenagers and children is the family," added Tushi.
According to him, the phenomenon of equipping children with cold weapons in schools is a big and disturbing problem, so much so that a detector should be installed to distinguish these weapons.
For the case in question of the 14-year-old in Vlora, the sociologist saw positively the fact that the parent did not hide the case and that he acted correctly. He described the cooperation that is needed in such cases between all relevant institutions and mechanisms
"At the moment that the educational influence on children has weakened, additional complementary mechanisms such as teachers, police, psychologists, lawyers are definitely needed. These influence the improvement of the situation and the mitigation of minor crime", said Gëzim Tushi.
