The euro continues to fall, the IMF asks BSH to maintain a free exchange rate regime

Despite the decline of the euro in the Albanian market, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) asks Albania to continue the implementation of the "free exchange rate regime".
According to the IMF, maintaining this regime is essential to mitigate the effects of foreign exchange market fluctuations, making the economy more resistant to external influences.
The recommendations of the IMF were forwarded to the governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, during a recent meeting. The fall of the euro has brought economic concerns, but the Bank of Albania is expected to follow the instructions of the IMF to avoid direct interventions in the exchange rate.
