Farmers demand more machinery, 38% of applications for the National

As in previous years, with the National Investment Scheme, the highest number of applications from farmers to benefit from financial support through grants resulted in the mechanization and modernization of agricultural farms.

Of the 801 applications submitted by farmers, according to data published by AZHBR, the most requested category was the one for the mechanization and modernization of work processes on agricultural and livestock farms, with 355 applications, which constitute 37.51% of the total.

Following it is Agrotourism with 83 applications (12.76%), reflecting the growing potential of this sector that combines agriculture with rural tourism.

New plantings of fruit trees, olive trees, citrus trees and vineyards, with 80 applications (12.09%).

Processing and packaging of agricultural products, with 76 applications (10.62%).

For financial support for drip irrigation systems, essential for water efficiency in climate change conditions, with 88 applications (10.98%).

Some sectors have resulted in lower interest: Construction of facilities for animal and poultry breeding: 62 applications (8.17%).

Construction of solar greenhouses for vegetables and fruits: 42 applications (6.57%). Hail protection nets: 9 applications (1.02%). Marine aquaculture: only 6 applications (0.88%).

Applications for the national investment scheme closed on September 30, 2025. Compared to previous years, applications have doubled.

For 2024, a total of 404 applications were registered under the National Agricultural Investment Scheme 2024, of which 360 applications met the selection criteria and 280 applications are qualified.

The highest number of qualified people according to AZHBR was for investments in farm mechanization; construction of livestock stables and poultry raising facilities; construction of solar greenhouses.

The National Investment Scheme 2025 offers financial support of 20 million euros, and includes support in the form of grants of up to 50% of the investment value, soft loans with an interest rate of 2%, as well as sovereign guarantees to facilitate access to financing.
