"We sleep on gold, but we are poor"/ Spaç miners on strike for 36 days, Albert Bushpreni: Underground paralyzed, there is no production!

The Spaç miners in Mirdita have been protesting for several weeks, demanding respect for their rights from the private company that manages the mine.
The situation has escalated with layoffs. The private company that operates the mine has not publicly responded to the workers' demands, but has fired about 40 workers, describing the protest as causing economic damage.
The miners appeared at a hearing at the Human Rights Commission, where they raised concerns about rights violations by the company.
MP Gazment Bardhi has accused the company of using public property without respecting the Constitution, emphasizing that dismissal due to union organizing is illegal.
Miner Albert Bushpreni was invited to the "News24 Weekend" studio today.
"The 36th day of the miners' strike, we have not taken any steps from the company to sit down and discuss. They continue with their stubbornness. Televisions, personalities, and MPs have come to SPAÇ. On Thursday, we were invited to the Assembly to the Human Rights and Economy Committees, where we presented our concerns.
No one is working in that mine anymore. The factory is working because it is not involved in the union, but the underground process is blocked. Only personnel with Turkish citizenship who carry out maintenance of the galleries work because the underground has specific conditions. We sleep on gold but we are poor ," he said.
