Over 1 million vehicles in circulation, increase in latest generation cars

The active fleet of vehicles reached over 1 million at the end of the first eight months of this year, marking a significant increase of 41.1% compared to 2020.
The data published by the General Directorate of Road Transport Services (GDRTS) speak not only of quantitative growth, but also of a trend towards qualitative improvement of vehicles in circulation, an indicator that reflects the orientation of citizens towards safer, more efficient vehicles equipped with modern technology.
During the first eight months of 2025, 66,521 new vehicles were registered, which represents an increase of 113% compared to the same period in 2020.
The majority of these registrations belong to cars, which constitute 82.1% of the total, showing a clear orientation towards personal and urban vehicles.
Particularly significant is the increase in the latest generation vehicles, those produced within the last three years, which account for over 13 thousand vehicles, an increase of 106% compared to 2020.
