Albania record income of 3.9 billion euros from tourism, for 9 months earned 640

From the sea, to mountains, canyons, protected areas or cultural and historical monuments, foreigners have spent record amounts in Albania compared to years.

Over 9.6 million foreigners who visited the country during the 9-month period January-September, brought 3.8 billion euros to the country. The Bank of Albania says that the expenses of foreign citizens in Albania increased by 640 million euros compared to last year.

A simple calculation shows that each incoming tourist spent 398 euros for staying here, a value higher than the 9-month period of 2023, where the average spending per tourist was 387 euros.

"The daily expenditure per traveler has been estimated to be increasing, while the number of days of stay has fluctuated around the same level in the last year", it is also stated in the report of the Bank of Albania.
In fact, this year's summer has been dominated by criticism for abuse of businesses with prices ranging from accommodation to food service or bars.

On the other hand, the Albanians have been more indulgent than years in their spending for vacations abroad. About 5.9 million Albanians who traveled abroad in 9-months spent over 2 billion euros, out of 1.7 billion euros that was the value of annual expenses. The expenditure for an Albanian abroad is calculated on average at 349 euros from 337 euros which was the value in the same period of 2023.
