A few days ago, the Prefect of Vlora met with the leaders of the opposition groups in the Municipal Council of Vlora, who asked him not to approve and undo the decisions of the last meeting of the Municipal Council on 28.10.2024.
Our claim was that the meeting should be cancelled, since the socialist majority in the council, in open opposition to the law, after leaving the opposition hall, voted for the agenda for the second time, adding to the list of participation in the meeting from 32 to 37 councilors. .
Also, for the opposition, the arrogant attitude of the administration and directors of the institutions under the Municipality or other reporting institutions, who did not report their work in writing, according to the requirements and duties left by the municipal council, was unacceptable.
The prefect listened calmly and patiently to our arguments, but his decision in favor of the majority in the council proves that even the institution of the prefect has decided not to put the dignity of the Municipal Council of Vlora in front of the citizens of Vlorë, and has shown that the protection of the law and of the rules of the local government, it is actually the territory of the SP, and not the first duty of all the people's mandated officials.

With his decision today, the prefect has NOT condemned arrogance as the main characteristic, as a way of behavior and direction in today's administration of the municipality and its dependent institutions.
With his decision today, the prefect of Vlora has confirmed what we as the opposition have always denounced: not only the incompetence, arrogance and illegality of this majority in the city of Vlora; but also mocking, insulting and trampling on the citizens of Vlonia, who have mandated the opposition with their vote to protect their rights!
We as the opposition do not agree with this position, as it is not even justified to create a new group of advisors at the last moment to balance the votes in the conference of presidents.
Today's attitude of the prefect conveys the message to the citizens of Vlora to look carefully at every decision of the Municipal Council and decide with their vote tomorrow, if they will accept to be mocked and trampled on by this majority that openly violates the laws!
Normally, our position as the opposition will be in favor of the law and we will denounce any violation!
We as the opposition will continue to work in the interest of the citizens of Vlora and against mismanagement, incompetence, arrogance and violation of the law!
