Three issues that DP has not resolved yet, 6 months before the elections
If you follow the debates in the Parliament of Albania today, it is well understood that the discussions have nothing to do with politics, democracy or parliamentarism. There you understand how the institution of parliament can degrade. Debates with personal attacks, coffee shop gossip and mutual accusations are not related to the MP's activity at all. But above all, from today's discussions, you understand how the parliamentary debate has nothing to do with the problems that concern Albanian citizens. In short, the debates in the Parliament of Albania are a manual of how politics should not be. This degradation, in fact, has been happening for a long time, but recently, it is at its highest levels.

If the majority is interested in this political brawl, it is not understood why the Albanian opposition does not focus on its essential issues, but spends wasted energy that does not add political credits or any more votes. Yelling, cursing or insulting, being aggressive with a high tone of voice, does not mean that this makes you more efficient or more necessary for your electorate. And above all, it is not that it weakens the government more.

All these are empty debates, at a time when the Albanian opposition, or more precisely the Democratic Party, has not yet resolved three essential issues to gain power in Albania. Especially since we are only 6 months before the parliamentary elections.

The first problem that the Democratic Party must solve is international relations. For three years in a row, since the announcement of Sali Berisha's non-grata, PD has been in complete international isolation. Now that an "enemy" of Sorros will enter the White House, Mr. Berisha will no longer have an alibi for this isolation. And this is good news for Albania, if the opposition comes out of international isolation. The problem is that at this point, the Democratic Party no longer has an alibi, since it already has an ally of Mr. Berisha and no longer an administration captured by Sorros.

And if PD really wants to come to power in 2025, in this isolation it is in today, it is very difficult, almost impossible.

The second problem that must be solved is the issue of the candidate for prime minister. Only 6 months before the parliamentary elections, the Democratic Party still does not have a candidate for prime minister. And this gives him a big disadvantage in relation to the opponent. There is no political party that has come to power without a clear candidate for prime minister. The candidate for prime minister in today's politics is essential. He is the person who represents the vision, and on whom the political alternative of his entire party is embodied. And in the absence of such a person, the alternative is unclear.

The third problem, or the third issue that DP must solve, is the issue of the political program and the vision it has for Albania. It is difficult to imagine today what Albania could be like with the Democratic Party in power. Maybe she has a program or a vision for Albania, but at least so far she has not managed to convey it to the Albanians. It is difficult to imagine what education, tourism, medicine or other fields will be like under DP governance. If we compare it with the elections in America, the Americans were clear about what America they expected with Donald Trump and what America they expect with Kamala Harris. And in the end, they made their choice according to their beliefs.

And that's exactly what PD could not do. If under Rama's government we can imagine what kind of Albania we have, under the possible DP government it is difficult to imagine, because so far he has not conveyed his idea to the Albanians. Without solving these problems, the Democratic Party wastes energy with attacks on justice, with quarrels in parliament or with investigative commissions that are more of a "show" than solving any problem.
