A composer, conductor and orchestrator among the most beloved and best known on the Italian scene, known for his particular musical sensibility and ability to unite tradition with innovation, Peppe Vessicchio was the most beloved “magic wand” of the Sanremo Festival.
He was born in Naples on March 17, 1956.
During his career he collaborated with big names in Italian and international music, such as Gino Paoli, Roberto Vecchioni, Zucchero and Ornella Vanoni.
At Sanremo he won four times as an orchestra conductor: in 2000 with Avion Travel (“Sentimento”), in 2003 with Alexia (“Per dire di no”), in 2010 with Valerio Scanu (“Per tutte le volte che”), and in 2011 with Roberto Vecchioni (“Chiamami ancora amore”).
Vessicchio has also conducted in the Moscow Kremlin, in a tribute concert for John Lennon, led the "Rockin'1000" project, the largest rock band in the world, and for many years was the musical director and teacher in Maria De Filippi's talent show "Amici".
From March 2026, he was expected to embark on a theater tour with singer Ron, with the play "Ecco che incontro l'anima", which would be their first collaboration on stage.
