Last night, during the promotion of Ben Blushi's novel "I am Muslim", friends and collaborators were invited, who came to share the emotions of this special moment.
Among them was Shkëlqim Hajdari, who highlighted Blushi's atypical character and courage as a writer.
Hajdari praised not only his literary mastery, but also the role of the book as a mirror of Albanian reality and social changes, highlighting that amidst provocations and deep reflections, Blushi serves a society that needs to reflect.
The full speech of Shkëlqim Hajdari, at the promotion of the book "I am Muslim":
I dare say that you are not a provocateur, Blush, but you are atypical, and to avoid personal considerations, I am returning to the novel.
I read it right away, because your prose is the way you write it: fast and the reader reads it quickly. I believe there are people here who know literature better than I do.
It's true: with "living on an island" and "The Conspiracy", you have served Albanian society a lot, because, unfortunately, there are clear nuances that Albania could take a desperate direction; what you predict, be it what you predict for the reduction in population size and the change in its composition, etc., etc.
As for returning to the novel (because when we both start conversations, we finish them after 7 hours), I'll close it quickly so as not to tire my friends.
You started it with provocation in the second chapter, or you started it atypically, when you said that:
"Islam (Muslims) have done more damage to Kavaja Street than the communists, let alone the fascists who loved it more."
But you have to divide it, because in the end you have divided Muslims altogether: you said “I am a Muslim, you are with Muslims and you are against Islamists”. I hope it is a slip of the tongue, but that is how it is written. You should have said: “I am with Muslims and Islamists have harmed Rruga e Kavajës” – then I am with you. But if you look at the beginning of chapter 2, it says that Muslims have harmed Rruga e Kavajës more than the communists who were atheists. So I think you should reflect on this part, because later in the book you reflected, you divided Muslims, with whom you agree, and Islamists, with whom I generally agree with what you criticize.
Now, since you know the world of practicing Albanian Muslims, of which I am also a part, you, Blush, rest assured and all your friends here: there are no Islamic structures in Albania.
Kemi pasë ca probleme unë, Ulsiu (Manja), miku i Ulsiut (Manjani, ish-prokuror dhe ish-ministër drejtësie, etj.), që dimë shumë mirë, sepse kemi pasur detyra të larta shtetërore, kemi pasur probleme të tmerrshme në vitet ’98, ’99, 2000. Rruga e Kavajës ishte simbol, po edhe rrugë të tjera s’kanë qenë keq… Por falë vetë myslimanëve shqiptarë, organeve ligjzbatuese, bashkëpunimit ndërkombëtar, kjo situatë është tejkaluar.
Rri i qetë, Blush, nuk ka struktura islamike në Shqipëri. Ka njerëz që duan të bëjnë islamin tradicional, dhe për disa nuk përbën sens të bëhet në Shqipëri, p.sh., çështja e grave dhe mbulesës së kokës. Është detyrim për t’u mbuluar sipas islamit, por jo me fytyrë – është me kokë dhe aty je i kujdesshëm, e gjuan mbulesën e fytyrës, por kokën nuk e ngacmon.
Por nuk do të harrojmë miqtë e mi. Blushi nuk është hoxhë, Blushi nuk është praktikant i Islamit! Ju garantoj që Blushi nuk është as ateist. Lëre çfarë thotë, se e njoh mirë – më besoni për këtë dhe e dua fort Blushin. Blushi është Blush.
E mbyll romanin e tij duke thënë që unë u bëra nga frika mysliman dhe tani po ndjej frikë. Sigurisht që i jep merita edhe zonjës vetë. Une e kam ditë që Blushi do shkonte në Arabinë me zonjën e tij, më ka marrë mendimin, i kam thënë po, më ka çuar fotografi nga atje. I kam thënë: “A do të futem në lojë?” – jo, mos u fut në lojë, më tha.
Blush po e mbyll: “I ke shërbyer shumë myslimanëve me këtë libër, ta garantoj këtë pjesë, shumë. Sepse myslimanët janë kaq të pjekur në Shqipëri saqë nuk të marrin për hoxhë ty. S’kan luajt mendsh!”
Para njëzet vjetëve, po, mund të kishe probleme dhe ti dhe unë mund të kishim probleme, mund të hidheshin gurë kundër teje, por tani jo. Tani është gjeneratë tjetër e besimtarëve, qofshin myslimanë, katolikë, protestantë. Rri i qetë për atë pjesë. Nuk mund të ndodhë si në 2004, që patëm një bisedë: ti si deputet në Kuvend dhe unë si prokuror, që të kërcënuan atëherë, apo jo, e mban mend? Që të thashë, rri i qetë, se do merrem unë me këtë.
Por unë lus krijuesin e gjithësisë, se unë e besoj krijuesin e gjithësisë, që mund ta besojnë një pjesë e miqve të mi dhe një pjesë e miqve të Blushit, që Blushi ta dëgjojë bashkëshorten e tij të dytë (në libër), jo vetëm natën, po edhe ditën dhe me fuqinë e të Madhit Zot.
Shkrimtar, lus me zemër që të vazhdosh të shkruash dhe të shkoje edhe tek Çmimi Nobel për letërsi. Në të ardhmen, për të pasur sukses, do t’ja bëj një sugjerim: shkruaj si shkrimtar dhe mos jep opinionet e tua. Se ti edhe thu se është bestseller dhe jep opinionet e tua, apo jo, o Prenci (Ahmet), po edhe me opinionet e tua do quhesh provokator ose atipik, siç të quaj unë…!
Now you, Blush, decide this matter in the future, but I guarantee that this time you have not crossed the red line. You are good. And I am closing by saying: Blush, you are a believer in action. I do not know what you say with your mouth, I do not have the mechanism to open your heart, only God has that. For me, you are a believer, you have fought principled political battles, you have left politics with dignity – neither as a thief, nor as a thug, nor as a backroomer to overthrow the president. But with open theses, in discussions, you have created a political force with dignity, you have neither bought votes, nor sold votes, nor collaborated with criminal groups. You have also left "Libra" there.
And now you're writing books...
I wish you only success in the book you have just published, and peace, awareness, and family health.
