
Democracy in Action publishes preliminary results from 98% of polling stations/ Kurti leads with 40% of votes, PDK second, LDK third


Monitoring the process, according to DnV, these are the election results with 98% of votes counted.
28 political entities with 1,280 candidates are competing today for the support of around two million voters to secure seats in Kosovo's 120-seat parliament in today's parliamentary elections.
Twenty of these seats belong to national minorities, ten of which are for the Serbian community, from whose ranks six political entities are competing.
The voting process closed at 7:00 p.m. 940 polling stations were open as of 7:00 a.m., while over 100 European Union envoys and 18 from the Council of Europe were observing the process.
Sunday's elections are the ninth in a row since the end of the 1998-1999 war, which ended with NATO intervention.
The counting of ballot boxes at polling stations is still ongoing, while the first exit poll results have also been released.
