The only Albanian MP in the Serbian Parliament, Shaip Kamberi, has submitted an initiative to equip the municipality of Presheva with its own registration plates, saying that Presheva, like other municipalities, deserves to be identified by its own name.
Kamberi wrote on Facebook that 12,387 vehicles are registered in the municipality of Presheva, while the municipality of Presheva has 33,449 resident inhabitants and a total of 59,024 inhabitants when non-resident inhabitants are added.
"With this number of inhabitants and this number of registered vehicles, it is completely reasonable and necessary for Presheva to have its own license plates, and not to keep those of the city of Vranje. Presheva deserves equal treatment and for its symbols, including license plates, to be present just like in any other municipality in Serbia," he wrote.
