The attack on the Ibër-Lepenci canal, water supply restrictions in 3

The water supply company of the region of Mitrovica, KRU Mitrovica, announced on Wednesday that it will implement reductions in the supply of water to its customers in South Mitrovica, Vushtrri and Skenderaj, as a result of the consequences caused by the damage caused by the attack on the water channel of Ibër-Lepencit last week.

She said that the residents of the city of South Mitrovica will face a lack of water from 18:00 to 06:00, while the villages of this municipality from 09:00 to 18:00.

The inhabitants of the city of Vushtrri will not be supplied with water from 18:00 to 06:00, while the villages of this municipality from 09:00 to 18:00.

In Skenderaj, there will be reductions from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for city residents, while from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for residents of the municipality's villages.

The company did not indicate how long the water reductions will last, which are a result of the explosion in the Ibër-Lepenci water channel in Zubin Potok, for which the Kosovar authorities have blamed the neighboring country Serbia. Serbia has denied the accusations.

The Ibër-Lepenc Canal supplies water from Lake Ujman to the entire north of Kosovo, the regions of Mitrovica, Pristina and its surroundings, as well as the Kosovo Energy Corporation for cooling its thermal power plants.

"In order to provide the best possible supply to all our consumers, we ask you to consume water as rationally as possible, especially in the situation we are in", said KRU Mitrovica.

She called on her customers not to use the water for drinking.
