Rare pink diamond discovered, worth millions of dollars

An extraordinary diamond, half pink and half transparent, has been discovered in Botswana's Karowe mine, stunning the jewelry world.

The gemstone is 37.41 carats (about 7.5 grams) and is about 2.5 centimeters long, with a clear separation between the pink and colorless parts.

Experts describe it as one of the most important diamonds ever discovered, due to its unique formation.

"This diamond has the potential to become one of the most important in history," said Oded Mansori, co-founder of the Belgian company HB Antwerp, which is processing it.

Diamond was formed over three billion years ago, under extreme pressures and temperatures.

Unlike diamonds of other colors, the pink hue is created not by impurities, but by structural deformations during geological processes.

Similar diamonds have been discovered before, but none have reached this size, most do not exceed two carats.

The Karowe mine is known for spectacular discoveries, such as Sewelô (1,758 carats), Sethunya (549 carats) and Motswedi (2,488 carats).

The value of the new diamond has not yet been determined, but is expected to be in the millions of dollars after processing by HB Antwerp.
