Did Soros influence the disintegration of the DP and the justice system in Albania? Enkelejd Alibeaj answers
No influence of Soros in the division of the Democratic Party, or in the justice system in Albania. Enkelejd Alibeaj rejects the accusations of Sali Berisha, who blames George Soros for the division of the Democrats. In Ditar's studio with Bruna Çifligu, Alibeaj said that this accusation came after Berisha was declared non grata, whose attitude, according to Alibeaj, burdened the DP as well, turning it into a private political party with the aim of saving Berisha from trouble.
"I have the impression that not. It is a situation that was initially triggered by Berisha's design non grata. Then what would be the right attitude of a political figure would have to take it with him and not impose it on the political formation. it is not the fault of the democrats and the Albanians who suffer under Rama's majority. The one who promised at the beginning to solve this problem with his own judicial or political methods could have made another move. It would not involve the party. And today, if this approach from the statesman had happened today, the situation would be different. The fault should not be sought outside, it should be sought within. If it was unfair, even if it was lobbied by Soros, what is the attitude of the political figure. It does not pass on the shoulders of others. That trajectory should not have been undertaken to divide it and transform it into a political party, private property with the aim of saving Berisha from trouble. Not to comment on what happens in a political party, but for matters of public interest, and that is that Rama should no longer continue with handcuffed ministers and MPs with criminal connections, continue quietly because one segment has a problem owns and restrains all the rest".
Alibeaj denied on A2 CNN the influence of Soros on the justice system. Based on and bringing to attention the facts, he says that the reform in the justice system in Albania has been supported by the USA, EU and Great Britain.
"Justice reform began in 2015 when Obama was in power. If he had the conviction that was supported by Soros, why did he vote for him in July 2016 before Trump came to power. It was approved and Berisha voted for it with 140 votes. What is this attitude change? After 2016 came the non-Soros Trump administration, support for the justice system has been higher than before. These are public facts and what is support for the justice system has come from the USA, EU and Great Britain. The support for the justice system is not made by clans and groups but the official policy of the USA".
According to Alibeaj, Berisha does not accept the criminal process against him and blames the justice system. And to make it believable I link it to Soros.
"No. In my opinion, my opinion is based on facts, it has been the official policy of the USA and the Trump administration, which has consistently maintained its stance on legal and financial reform. A person who does not accept the criminal process puts the burden on the justice system. Berisha has chosen the second one and to make it more credible he connects the justice system with a group of Soros. This is quite clear. The fight against corruption is done only by the justice system".
