Agron Shehaj: The DP betrayed us, but we will support Florian Binaj

Mundësia Party, Agron Shehaj has declared that he will support Florjan Binaj as the opposition candidate for the Tirana municipal elections.

On the show "Opinion" he did not hide his disappointment with the DP, saying that he had betrayed it. According to him, when they sat down at the table with the DP, Mundësia proposed Ermal Hasime, but the DP supported Binaj.

Despite this, Shehaj said that his party will support Binaj to emerge victorious in the November 9 elections.

"We have not talked about any names. We have only talked about the principle. We have made a proposal that fortunately has been accepted by the DP. We are proud of this, because thanks to our proposal it was seen as a solution because there was enthusiasm for both the proposal and the names. We were forced to come up with names and we mentioned Ermal at the table, we are proud of this. Unfortunately, this whole process ended in the worst possible way, we were betrayed. It is the first time this kind of dialogue has happened. It ended in the worst way. The DP betrayed us because it told us to sit down because the proposal is good and let's sit down and discuss the names. It doesn't matter how they act. We will support the non-political candidate and we will support Florian Binaj as if we had proposed him. We are coherent in what we said on the first day that a candidate outside of political parties is needed and we do not condition the name. Binaj has emerged who meets the conditions and despite the problem we have with the DP, the goal is to give Tirana a uncorrupted mayor. We will support him as if he had been proposed by us. We will never become the opposition of the opposition. We will support him as if he had been proposed by us. Support for Binaj is in all forms that he sees as reasonable and necessary. We will support him as if it were our proposal, but I say it again. As of tomorrow we are ready to sit down and discuss how he thinks he should campaign. I think that this village should not be traditional with party leaders on the side, but with the citizens. I am convinced that the formula we have chosen is a winner", - said Shehaj.
