Member of the DP National Council: The base demands that MPs go on hunger strike in Parliament!
At a peak moment of discussion and revolt within the DP, member of the DP National Council, Iliriana Kuçana, put forward a radical proposal coming from the democrats' base: opposition MPs should go on a hunger strike within the premises of Parliament.
According to her, this extreme act is necessary to justify the trust of the 500,000 democrats who supported them in difficult conditions. 'Either a technical government, or they should not leave parliament,' she emphasized, seeing this as the only way to show determination and put the government in real difficulties.
Analyst Fatos Çoçoli described the proposal as 'very radical' and 'extreme', questioning the current MPs' willingness to make such a sacrifice. 'People used to driving a 100,000 euro car can hardly refuse food,' he said wryly, suggesting that such an action requires a level of idealism that may be lacking among the current political elite. This proposal highlights the gap between the base's expectations for strong action and the leadership's measured strategy.
