Former Deputy Prime Minister of Albania, Arben Ahmetaj, has reacted immediately from Switzerland to news reported this Monday in the media that the Ministry of Justice has launched a new extradition request for him, as well as is investigating a 3 million euro transfer to Austria.
The senior socialist official who fled Albania as soon as he learned he would be arrested two years ago says that the extradition request was made urgently on August 18, 2023, when he left the country, and it's all a pipe dream.
He also commented on what emerged from the trial, that the prosecutor in his case is investigating a suspicious transfer of 3 million euros from Albania to Austria, which is allegedly linked to Arben Ahmetaj.
"The pseudo-transfer has been under investigation for over a year and the prosecutor knows full well that there is no transfer between me and anyone else, let alone the businessmen or businessman in question. Let it remain as a challenge!!! The letter of intent is "translated" very quickly," the former deputy prime minister writes.
Arben Ahmetaj calls the whole thing a hoax and fake news, so he explains as follows:

Former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj has been internationally wanted by SPAK since July 2023, suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Hiding assets", "Passive corruption" and "Money laundering".
He has had several assets and properties seized, some of which are suspected to have been acquired through his relationship with the owners of the incinerators, Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri, who are also wanted. Arben Ahmetaj has applied for asylum in Switzerland, along with his partner Erjola Hoxha and their minor daughter.
