Biden defends his decision to continue running for a second presidential term

President Joe Biden used his much-anticipated press conference Thursday to defend his foreign and domestic policies and dismissed concerns about his ability to serve another four years, though in one of his responses first, he confused the name of Vice President Kamala Harris with that of his rival Donald Trump.
"I am not in a race to preserve my heritage. I'm continuing the race to finish the job I started," said Mr. Biden, while insisting that his support among voters is strong and that he would stay in the race and win. President Biden made these comments at the conference to the press after the meeting with the leaders of the NATO countries, where earlier he confused the name of Ukrainian President Zelensky with that of Russian President Putin. He caught the mistake and corrected himself, while inviting the Ukrainian President to speak at the conference for the press.
