Blerina Gjylameti returns to Parliament

This Tuesday afternoon, the leadership of the Socialist Party made official the six names of candidates for the municipalities of Tirana, Vlora, Berat, Mati, Cërrik and Tepelena. After the announcement of the names, there have also been rumors about the movements that will be made within the ranks of the majority, given that two of the candidates are members of parliament for this legislation.

Among the names confirmed as candidates for mayor is MP Ogerta Manastirliut, who will give up her mandate in the Assembly to run for the Municipality of Tirana. As a result of the May 11 elections, Manastirliut's place in Parliament will be taken by Blerina Gjylameti, a well-known name in the ranks of the Socialists and with a long experience in the Albanian Parliament.

In the parliamentary elections, she managed to collect 6,167 votes and her return to the Assembly comes within the framework of implementing gender quotas and maintaining representative balance in the Assembly.

Gjylameti was also the candidate who fought "head to head" with her colleague Olta Xhaçka. She even addressed the CEC with a letter requesting the availability of video footage of the vote counting of all centers in the capital.
