A proposal for a hunger strike was reportedly put forward at a closed-door meeting held this afternoon with the heads of the Democratic Party branches.
Media sources indicate that one of the branch leaders has proposed to Berisha a hunger strike not only by the MPs but also by their families, claiming that this is the only way to restore trust in this political force.
"Doctor, trust in politics in general is low, but in the DP in particular. Protests have been tried but have only resulted in pilgrimage. Many Democrats have fled to the majority and you cannot blame them for this situation. I think that a possible solution to restore trust in the DP is the sacrifice not only of the deputies, but also of their families. To go on strike at the Parliament together with their families. Otherwise, how can trust be restored when all forms have been tried", one of the branch heads is reported to have said.
Meanwhile, the same sources confirm that Berisha has not rejected these proposals, but has expressed his support for a protest once a week in front of the Parliament.
"You are right in both the submission and the proposals, I do not reject any of these, but we are in a narco regime. We need a protest in the format of the one in front of the municipality, once a week in front of the Assembly. That is, in every session there should be a protest in front of the Assembly", declared Berisha.
