Hoxha: Some people told Aleks Nika's family that Berisha's confidant killed their son

Journalist Artan Hoxha, invited to the studio of the show "Kjo Javë" on News24, has revealed details about the reopened investigations into the case of "January 21".
Hoxha spoke about a material from the January 21 protest, saying that it was seen only by the family of Aleks Nika, who was killed in the rally 13 years ago.
According to him, some other people had previously gone to Nika's family and told them that another person had killed their son.
He revealed that the person in question had been a confidant of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, but was not responsible for the murder of Aleks Nika.
Hoxha underlined that the material will only be made available to SPAK if requested.
" Those who committed January 21 were careful to hide the evidence. After securing the material, I have identified whether it is original. Because of the contact with Alex Nika's family, I had an obligation, even a moral one, to explain to Alex's father that he had new material.
Some people had previously gone to Nika's family and had shown them a photo of another person, an important commander in the guard on January 21, and told them that he had killed their son. This was dangerous, because we are talking about a family with tradition and origin from the north. This could push them towards revenge if there was no action from justice. I told them that the information was not true.
The person in question was a confidant of Berisha, but he was not related.
Alexi's family members and I have spoken to the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana and I have never had faith in the Prosecutor's Office for a moment. That's why I didn't submit the material. We also agreed with the family that we deliver the material only to SPAK. The moment SPAK calls me, I will make it available. January 21 cannot be investigated for what happened, but an exhaustive investigation is needed," he said.
