Accused of the Tirana incinerator, the Court accepts the request of former MP

The trial on the merits was held for former SP MP Alqi Bllako, regarding the Tirana incinerator case.

Bllako is accused of passive corruption in two cases. Bllako has requested to be tried under the summary trial procedure, which means that if he is found guilty, his sentence will be reduced by 1/3.

SPAK summarizes the evidence and facts it has regarding the Tirana incinerator case, also providing the arguments why it is seeking the conviction of Alqi Bllako.

During the investigations, illegal actions committed by the defendant were found, at the time when he was Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment.

It is suspected that he received money worth around 120 thousand euros and 7 million 520 thousand lek from Vladimir Bezhanin, from the concession company for the construction of the incinerator.

Bllako proposed to Bezhan to provide legal advice on the Tirana incinerator issue, before the unsolicited proposal was made regarding this issue. Bllako asked Klodian Zoto to hire him, at that time Bezhan was an external advisor to Minister Koka, although he was paid by the company “Integrated Technology Services” sh.pk

37 cases have been filed by SPAK in the case of Alqi Bllako. Meanwhile, the Special Court decides to accept Alqi Bllako's request for a summary trial. The request was filed in the preliminary hearing and the same request was made by Bllako today in the courtroom.
