Ilir Meta narrated details of his life in the custody of "313" in Tirana, as he explained why he did not agree to be transferred to Fier prison.

The head of the Freedom Party has shown how he spends his free time in the cell, in an interview with journalist Erla Mhilli.

Can you tell us a little about your conditions in prison? How is your day at "313"? Stay alone in the room?

My day is mostly filled with reading, notes, memories and letters I write to colleagues, friends and relatives and also reading their letters.

I'm standing alone, but I don't feel alone. In the meantime, I do various stretching exercises, etc.

Accused of three counts of corruption, money laundering and failure to declare and conceal assets, are you afraid of the fact that you could spend a long time in prison for these charges?

There are no official charges filed against me. Everything is based only on conjectures and on statements and reports of persons incriminated and with problems with justice.

I repeat to you that they have no charges, no evidence or criminal facts against me, I am presumed innocent and under these conditions the punishment exists only in the perverse minds of those who conceived and executed this plan of political kidnapping to perpetuate Albania as a colony of Soros and international mafia.

In another interview, you stated that you had opportunities and offers to leave. Who did you get these offers from?

Yes, it is very true that people from the regime and SPAK have been suggesting me for a year, not to help me, but to avoid me from the opposition and patriotic action.

This is proven by the fact that after my public rejections, they activated a false process to kidnap and isolate me from the opposition as I explained above.

You, that is, LSI in the last elections received about 107.5 thousand votes (and 4 mandates). With you under arrest in jail, is he afraid of the fact that this voter might switch to the left? I ask this question because basically those voters are left-wing and therefore more inclined to go to the left than to the right.

The Freedom Party will achieve a very promising result.

This hijacking will boomerang on those who carried it out and their accomplices.

Regarding the parties that have gained popularity, they are simply disposable products of the "Renaissance" in order to create perceptions for the division of the opposition.

They are just checkers like the G99 that make noise but zero politics.

You are among the oldest politicians in these 34 years of democracy. How do you think the political scene will be configured with you in prison and the new parties that seem to be gaining popularity. How do you predict May 2025?

Both the arrest of Mr. Berisha as leader of the DP and my political kidnapping are part of a single scenario, that of alienating the political will of Albanians and destroying the real opposition, to guarantee the impunity of the most corrupt Government on the continent.

SPAK is a cobra in the hands of the regime which is hopeless.

Who do you talk to most often these days over the phone booth?

You should know that the number of people I can contact is very limited (only 13), quite insufficient considering my status as the President of the Freedom Party, the third political force in the country in 20 years.

It has not happened in any democratic country that a former President of the Republic and party leader is arrested for suspicions on the eve of the elections.

Why do you have a harsh attitude towards your ex-wife and do not even agree to meet her, when she has openly told the prosecutors to deal with her, not with you. So in a way he took ownership of things?

My positions on matters of principle are firm and uncompromising.

Regarding the legal responsibilities, they are individual and not collective or transferable.

Her media and legal stances are part of her defense concept of defense and serve me no favors at all.

What serves me and I need is the truth and it is with me.

Who are your closest people today in the conditions when you are isolated?

In these conditions, the closest people are the Family, my colleagues from the Freedom Party, as well as lawyer Gjokutaj, with whom we follow this process every day, which is documented as illegal.

A well-connected man accustomed to sports activities such as mountain climbing, swimming, gym. How do you do in those conditions?

I have not stopped the sports activity for a single day and I will continue until the last day.
