Actor Florjan Binaj has considered the decision to enter the race for mayor of Tirana, for the early local elections, as not an easy one.
Invited to the show "Top Story", Binaj said that it happened at the right moment, also due to the fact that the opposition parties "opened the doors and left the dance floor empty", for someone to take over. He said that initially he expected society to oppose him for this decision, but the opposite has resulted, with great support.
"Politics is no joke. When I entered here I was emotional because I had not entered for three and a half years. I want to start with a thank you, because it was you who became the reason why I returned to the house where I was born artistically. Since I was little, I have had the tendency to do justice.
Relatives and society have told me why I should try. The circumstances required me to make a decision these days that was not at all easy because it carries with it a lot of responsibility. At first, I expected my circle to say, "Flor, what's wrong with you?", but the opposite happened.
"I had support and congratulations, which was the right thing at the right time. The opposition parties opened the doors and left the dance floor empty, for someone to take over. I came out to encourage others who are like me, the time has come for the representative to be like a citizen-citizen, not like someone employed by the party," he said.
