The Socialist Party seeks to expel nearly half of the Democratic Party's deputies after Monday's hot day in the Assembly, where chairs were set on fire, bringing an unusual sight to the doors of the legislative institution.
For this reason, the Ethics Committee meets today at 3:00 PM to consider the request of the Socialists for the expulsion of 24 deputies.
Meanwhile, 23 MPs of the opposition have been sent by the Tirana Police to SPAK for the events that took place in the Assembly.
Inside the Parliament hall, while the plenary session was taking place, there were clashes with the Guard, while the opposition MPs threw hard objects at the Speaker of the Parliament, Elisa Spiropali. They then took their chairs and dragged them out of Parliament, setting them on fire in the courtyard. Flamur Noka, Gazment Bardhi, Bledjon Nallbati and 20 other deputies of PD and opposition parties are accused of destruction of property by fire and assault due to duty, provided by articles 151 and 237 of the Criminal Code.
